Wires in the Woods is a solo and two-player tabletop role-playing game in which you play a curious little forager in an abandoned world. You will explore different locations, discover artefacts along the way, and come to see familiar objects through unfamiliar eyes. These left-behind items will help you solve any issues and conflicts that arise on your journey.

A collaborative project between award-winning TTRPG creator Tim Roberts and artist Simon J. Curd, it's a role-playing game perfect for a cosy night in by yourself or with a partner.

The rulebook is available as a PDF or an A5 hardback rulebook printed by Standart Impressa, the same company who print high quality gamebooks such as Mörk Borg and other Free League content. Tim wanted to create a book that did justice to Simon's beautiful artwork as well being something that you wouldn't want to hide away on a shelf. Wires in The Woods, is part game, part art collection.

The hardcover book has stretch goals for printed ribbon bookmarks and printed page edges.

The game plays out using a deck of cards to reveal new locations and 2d6 to generate items found. There are four settings to play in:

- Empty Streets is an urban sprawl where you will explore backyards, parks, trash cans and shopping malls. Like everywhere in this world, nature has become the town planner.

- Tangled Branches is a forest setting, not dissimilar to the Pacific Northwest. Think Twin Peaks, douglas firs, abandoned lodges, empty waterparks and secret nooks behind powerful waterfalls.

- Fresh Snow is vast expanses of tundra, chill winds, remote research stations and glacial caverns. Hopefully your fur will keep you cosy.

- Misty Lake is eerie waters, remote tree covered islands, muddy banks and dilapidated jetties. You may occassionally need to swim, or try your paws at rowing.

In Wires in the Woods, you choose one of five foragers to role-play, all with different skillsets:

As you explore, you discover artefacts – there are 36 in total – that you will need to repurpose to create solutions to issues and conflicts that occur as your story develops.

The game began life almost two years ago when Tim met Simon at a comic con and bought some of his art. This project represents an exchange of ideas between two creatives that began when they first met and has continued to this day.
