When The Sky Comes Looking For You is a 40-plus page zine adventure for level 2 Weird Frontiers characters. The zine features artists who have worked on Dungeon Crawl Classics, Weird Frontiers, Shadowdark and other tabletop role playing games.
Your party is hired by a loan-shark luchador to track down a debtor. This leads you all to an airship on its way to the Near. Can you escape in time?
I wrote this adventure with Weird Frontiers in mind and with minor tweaks you can use it in Dungeon Crawl Classics, Mutant Crawl Classics, or even X-Crawl Classics.
When the Sky Comes Looking For You was inspired by the Motörhead song of the same name, but more specifically by my love for westerns like Duck, You Sucker (aka A Fistful of Dynamite) and 3:10 to Yuma. I drew inspiration from the pulp books by the late, great Donald E. Westlake/Richard Stark, like Castle in the Air and his Parker series.
I wanted to create an adventure combining the over-the-top thrills, wild humor, and unforgettable cast of characters I enjoyed while watching those films or reading those books. I hope my efforts to emulate these works can be enjoyed at your table.
