Nonstop Player Crawl — Unprepared Casters
This is a community submitted press release.

Do you like watching Dungeons & Dragons? Do you want to support a trans-led nonprofit? Have you wanted to use donations for a good cause to inflict chaos on a D&D game in real time? Join Unprepared Casters for the Nonstop Player Crawl on June 8th!

The Nonstop Player Crawl will have a rogue-lite-like structure that follows the same six NPCs from Unprepared Casters’s canon in a continuous dungeon crawl. While the characters remain the same, the players will switch out at regular intervals during the event. The stream itself will consist of five two-hour rounds with half-hour breaks in between, running from 10am-10pm CT on June 8th.

Who we are:

Unprepared Casters is an actual play podcast, with the goal of making D&D and other TTRPGs seem less intimidating to new players interested in exploring the hobby. The structure of the show focuses on short-length arcs that allow new listeners to jump into the current story without having to catch up on past lore or seasons.

The Nonstop Player Crawl will feature 30 on-screen participants over the course of the stream. DMs for each round will alternate between Haley Whipjack and Amelia Som, the hosts of Unprepared Casters. Players for each round are listed below:

Round 1, 10:00am CT: Amelia Som, Andre Rivera, Mo Mo O'brien, Pax, Connie Chang, Jordon Brown

Round 2, 12:30pm CT: Haley Whipjack, Matt Denkles, Pirate Princess Jess, Super Dillin, Brennan Lee Mulligan, Vic Michaelis

Round 3, 3:00pm CT: Puja, Drakoniques, Patrick Keeffe, Dannyphantom.exe, Spenser Starke, Travis McElroy

Round 4, 5:30pm CT: Grace, John, Aram Vartian, KappaChris, Persephone Valentine, Erika Ishii

Why TransLifeline:

We are deeply appreciative of the platform we have been given to create stories that offer comfort, catharsis, and sometimes an escape from the real world. The cast and crew—and much of our audience—includes many trans and gender nonconforming individuals, who cannot always escape the realities of transphobia, and being able to support a cause that offers meaningful real-life help for those who need it is one of the most important things we can do.

Through similar events in 2022 and 2023, Unprepared Casters has helped raise over $71,000 with a combined 19 hours of streamed content. In 2023, the stream maintained an average of 550 viewers throughout the 12 hour runtime. The goal this year is to achieve at least $10,000 in donations to continue to support the work of TransLifeline.

Trans Lifeline is a grassroots hotline and microgrants 501(c)(3) non-profit organization offering direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis – for the trans community, by the trans community. They envision a world where trans people have the connection, economic security, and care everyone needs and deserves – free of prisons and police.

Support the Campaign:

Donation incentives through Tiltify allow donors to help, harm, or spread chaos before and during the stream to influence gameplay. This includes passing out health potions, leveling up characters, or making someone draw a card from the infamous Deck of Many Things. For full information on our donation incentives, check out the campaign on Tiltify!

The team behind Unprepared Casters is incredibly grateful to have an audience that allows them to continue doing fun and silly things for a good cause. If you would like to help these efforts, please consider donating to the campaign. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you share the event with friends and family, tune into the stream, or find ways to uplift and support the trans people in your day to day life.

The fundraising campaign is open as of June 1, 2024 and will close at the end of the stream at 10pm CDT on June 8th. Donations are open now!
