This is a community submitted press release.

The Between is a roleplaying game about mysterious monster-hunters in Victorian-era London. They are residents of a place called Hargrave House, and their job is to investigate and neutralize monstrous threats terrorizing the city—threats that Scotland Yard can’t (or won’t) handle themselves. As the story progresses, they become aware of a criminal mastermind pulling the strings behind the scenes. They will have to face this mastermind in order to save Queen and country.

The Between is directly inspired by the gothic horror TV show Penny Dreadful, but also takes inspiration from British horror classics, graphic novels like From Hell and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and pulp-era stories. Mechanically, it uses an expanded version of the beloved and award-winning Brindlewood Bay mystery system.

The Between was originally released on DriveThruRPG in 2021. We’re crowdfunding an updated and expanded physical edition of the game featuring: revised rules, full-color art, a new layout, 7 character playbooks, 1 Mastermind, and 11 Threats.

Shadow Society and Suns of Another World

In addition to the core book, we’re raising funds to create two additional books: Shadow Society and Suns of Another World

Shadow Society includes new playbooks, a new Mastermind, new Threats, and a new way to explore the history and secrets of Hargrave House. Suns of Another World presents three new campaign frameworks for The Between, each with their own playbooks, Masterminds, and Threats. Those new campaigns are The Between: Ghosts of El PasoThe Between: Unsinkable, and The Between: Court of Wolves.
