Take A Gander At Our Lives In The Wood: A New Series From Tales Yet Told
Prepare for more tragic tales from the Sublime brought to you by Tales Yet Told.

Tales Yet Told is thrilled to announce Our Lives in the Wood–a brand new actual play series set in the setting of some of the show’s previous series, Strangers in the Wood and Voices in the Wood.
Our Lives in the Wood is a horror, actual play series featuring a rotating cast of guests playing various indie TTRPGs as they work to expand upon the world of Sublime County.
Our Lives in the Wood Trailer
In the fiction of the Sublime, the stories featured in Our Lives in the Wood are works of The Writer–one of the Stranger’s overzealous servants. Using his powers, The Writer weaves stories into the world by manipulating the lives of the people within it. Creating plot hooks by twisting circumstances and inciting incidents, even if it means someone else must die to push his “protagonists” forward.
“A singular thought, provided by yours truly, placed in just the right head at just the right time. ‘You can live inside them.’ And all hell breaks loose.” - The Writer
In reality, Our Lives in the Wood is a series of one-shots featuring a different TTRPG every episode and an incredible cast of powerful and diverse voices from across the actual play space, such as Fabian Lelay (Bad House RPG), Cleric (Embers of Rage), and Amihan (Capricious Provenance). By setting the worlds of these games within Sublime County, we learn what is true about the Sublime and explore its many possibilities through play. There will be times when the stories are built to give context and nuance to events that have already happened within the setting’s canon. Other times, they will establish new truths and broaden the scope of the setting.
“I wasn't entirely sure what to expect playing The Time We Have, as I already knew the premise of playing one of two siblings slowly succumbing to a curse would incur a collection of intense emotions. In playing this game, I tapped into my own grief surrounding my role as the eldest sibling of multiple brothers. Being a part of Our Lives in the Wood in this way means so much to me – especially after enjoying the experience that was 2048 AM: Voices in the Wood.” - Amihan (He/Hymn), episode 1 guest
Each game and guest brings something new to the table that is then woven into the cloth of this collaboratively built world. This gives the series a chance to showcase plenty of TTRPGs and engage with a wide variety of genres as it tries to expand the way we think about conversation and “play” as both narrative and performance. With new guests, games, genres, and tones in every episode, you can be sure you’ll never know what to expect next in the Sublime.
“Following up a show like Voices in the Wood isn’t easy, but we’ve learned our lessons from that series and, as a result, have embraced the power and grace of immersive sound design as a narrative tool. However, I also wanted us to refocus on “game mechanics and play” to reintroduce the aspects of actual play I love the most. Playing the game” - Kendo Smith (Any/All), creator and producer
Best of all, the first two episodes are available everywhere you get your podcasts!
