Survive Against an Evil AI in Proxy Error for Mothership - Available Now on Itch.io!
This is a community-submitted press release.

Available now on Itch.io, you can get yourself a copy of Alex Vigna's first published module outside of D&D, Proxy Error!

Proxy Error is a 50-page zine module written for Mothership 1E, as seen on Roll For Distraction! In Proxy Error, your players will take on the role of a hastily-assembled party of prisoners under the boot of an evil megacorporation, fighting to wipe away their debts and criminal records. They'll be exploring an abandoned research station, and contending with an AI that's a bit different than the kind you're probably used to from movies like Terminator. Without getting into spoilers, this AI is coming for much more than just the jobs of the people on the Lethe Research Base...

The 50-page PDF contains:

  • A 76-room megadungeon on an abandoned space station, with an interconnected isometric map.
  • Options for running the campaign as a standalone adventure, as a one-shot, or as part of an ongoing campaign.
  • Random encounters that change with each sector of the base.
  • Character creation instructions to give the PCs strong motives, a detailed contract with the company, and a d50 table of "crimes".
  • A table of reality-bending moves for the base's super-powered AI to make.
  • New enemy NPCs, with stats and lore.
  • Instructions for modifying the campaign to make new playthroughs more interesting for you, the warden.
  • A second smaller space station for the players to spend their limited downtime on, complete with NPCs and custom medical services.
  • Over a dozen anomalous artifacts for the players to collect, sell, or be confused by.
  • A random loot table for when you run out of stuff for them to dig up.
  • And much more!
In an artistically gritty style: A person with a blurred face operates a cleaning machine in an industrial hallway. The words "REPLACE REPLACE REPLACE" in bright red hover behind her.
REPLACE // REPLACE // REPLACE // REPLACE // Ȑ̸̳̱Ȩ̷͌P̶̜͈͝L̶̟͙̓͌A̸̢̮͝Ć̵̱̂È̸̲̹͂

The download also includes two jpg versions of the space station map: one full-color version for use with VTTs, and one printer-friendly b&w version.
