Roll For Good: TTRPG Charity Event supporting Doctors Without Borders 18-19 May
Roll For Good hosts a weekend of TTRPG one-shots to support Doctors Without Borders
During our tabletop games, we're often the heroes who face and overcome impossible odds and save the fantasy worlds we play in. However, Roll For Good believes that those same games, can help save the real world we all live in.
Roll For Good (RFG) returns with a weekend of live-streamed TTRPG one-shots to raise funds in aid of Doctors Without Borders International/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). During 18-19 May, we will be digitally hosting various tables playing games like:
- Mush the TTRPG by Misty Mountain Legends
- Fey Earth
- Solemn Vale by Dirty Vortex
- Star Trek Adventures by Modiphius
- Stag Party by Grant Howitt
- Dungeons & Dragons 5e
- Demigods by Probably OK Games
- Not Yet by Taylor Ann Navarro and Poorna M
The event will be live-streamed at twitch.tv/rollforgood where donations can impact the games in real time, such as granting a player an extra roll, a bonus or even causing complications at the GM's discretion. As donations are collected for MSF throughout the weekend, moderators in the chat will be running giveaways. Giveaways include digital and physical sets of games such as the Call of Cthulhu Starter Set (donated by Chaosium), The Walking Dead Universe Starter Set & Core Game (donated by Free League Publishing), and Dune: Adventures in the Imperium (donated by Modiphius).
Notable participants include
- Grant Howitt, creator of games like Honey Heist, running his game STAG PARTY
- Taylor Ann Navarro, Producer on Tales from Sina Una and Editor on Journeys Beyond the Radiant Citadel, running her game Not Yet
- Fionna Howatt, host of What Am I Rolling podcast and recurring performer at RPGeeks, ActualPlay UK, running Solemn Vale by Dirty Vortex
- Eren Angiolini, artist for Critical Role, playing Fey Earth
- Jess Jewell, producer for 3 Black Halflings, playing Solemn Vale
Our latest event raises funds in aid of MSF through Tiltify to further support access to medical care for individuals affected by armed conflicts, epidemics, natural disasters and targeted exclusion from healthcare. While as TTRPG fans, we might be the heroes within our own games, the medical professionals and supporting staff of MSF are genuine heroes. In particular, those themselves in danger who treat affected communities in Palestine, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and even people in distress crossing the Mediterranean Sea. We hope that any amount RFG raises can help MSF’s impactful and necessary work.
About Roll For Good
Since 2021, RFG is a community primarily based within Europe and the United Kingdom that mobilises the joy of tabletop roleplaying games to fundraise for charities and causes we care about. Our community, also reflected throughout our organising team and volunteers, represents people who are queer, transgender, neurodivergent, POC/BAME, disabled and intersectionally marginalised. All with an emphasis on the TTRPG community beyond the U.S.
Previous RFG events have raised a total of over £10,000 for charities such as Mind, World Central Kitchen, Mermaids, One Earth One Ocean, ILGA World and AKT Charity.
How you can help
If you're able to do so, please donate via our Tiltify campaign. Doing so during the event also means you can affect a game and take part in giveaways for TTRPG prizes. Donations are not required to participate in giveaways.
Sharing news and posts about our event is also an excellent way to help. The more word gets out about our event, the more likely other people in positions to donate can find us. Make noise about it on socials (RFG is on Twitter, Instagram and Bluesky), tell your friends when you're playing TTRPGs or at your FLGS.
Be in our Twitch chat during the event and engage! This also helps others find our stream and they may be compelled to donate as well.
Want to be part of our community? We're always looking for volunteers, particularly those based in Europe and the UK and from marginalised communities (especially POC/BAME). Contact us and be part of the team rolling for good.
