LONDON, England: Black Cats Gaming’s newest swashbuckling roleplaying game releases in PDF.

Cursed Captains of Cthulhu is a brand-new roleplaying game developed by James Barry that sees players assemble a crew of miscreants, ne'er-do-wells, and seadogs, to take to the Caribbean Sea and fight for freedom, plunder, and against the insidious mythos forces at play.

Cursed Captains of Cthulhu uses a brand-new 4d6 system, dubbed the Follow System, designed to be easy to pick up and play - with countless ways to grow with diegetic skill choices and experience, and a huge range of options, so that no two characters are the same. From seasoned sailors to mysterious Windcallers to fresh-faced students, every play style and flavour of nautical adventurer is possible in this standalone roleplaying game.

The game is the second larger-scale roleplaying game from Black Cats Gaming, the first being The Spy Game, that saw a successful Kickstarter and release in October of 2020.

Cursed Captains of Cthulhu similarly saw success on Kickstarter, unlocking a GMs Screen, dice, and adventure booklet, with the foremost also being available to purchase in PDF.

The writing team includes well known writers and streamers; Samantha Webb, Kienna Shaw, and Bee Zelda.

Kienna Shaw’s credits include the Pathfinder Lost Omens: Tian Xia World and Character Guides (Paizo), Candlekeep Mysteries (Wizards of the Coast), and CY_BORG (Free League).Bee Zelda’s credits include Vault of Magic for 5th Edition (Kobold Press), Arcon: City of Neon Daylight (Metal Weave Games, they are also an active podcaster and streamer.

Samantha Webb is Head of Brand at Modiphius Entertainment, as well as one of the co-founders of Black Cats Gaming. She has previously produced several award winning tabletop RPG titles for Modiphius Entertainment in recent years, including Star Trek Adventures, Fallout, Achtung! Cthulhu, and Dune. She was also the lead developer and writer of previous Black Cats Gaming title, The Spy Game.

James helped produce Dropzone Commander for Hawk Wargames, as well as Fallout: Wasteland Warfare, Kung Fu Panda, and Star Trek Adventures for Modiphius Entertainment.
