Non Standard Fantasy: The Adventurers Guide to the Primordial Shelf
Set in an arcanepunk world known as Eldavar, the Adventurer's Guide to the Primordial Shelf is a new and unique twist on what it means to enjoy high fantasy!
We all play TTRPGs, and so probably all know very well by now how often they tend to fall into the same cycles of issues and tropes. Eventually, people will always get tired of the same old thing, and move on to other settings.
This upcoming module book for Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition, written by a long time fantasy lover new writer Max Payne, is a prime example of the possibilities a fantasy setting that uses non standard tropes and ideas has.
Have you ever wondered what happens in a world after a grand adventure? Or what would occur if an alien invasion happened to a country while it was in the middle of a technological revolution?
Set in an arcanepunk world known as Eldavar, the Adventurer's Guide to the Primordial Shelf is a new and unique twist on what it means to enjoy high fantasy!
Explore the Primordial shelf, the center of a world shattering war at the beginning of time! Uncover countless mysteries from across the ages, battle unique foes across 6 kingdoms spanning 3 continents, and cement yourself as a legend in a world of pure might and magic!
This Ko-Fi campaign aims to bring art to that setting, injecting life into the world so passionately crafted over two years by one person. The Adventurer's Guide to the Primordial Shelf will release no matter what, but with donations and assistance from the community, the hope is that the Adventurer's Guide can become a series of settings that help dungeon masters and players discover or rediscover their love for fantasy!
The book's first draft is already finished and up for free on Ko-Fi and, ideally, will be published no matter what in the future, but without help that goal is still months, if not years, away.
Explore Osilda, Ilys and Udall, three massive continents teeming with life, challenges and mysteries from across the ages, and in some cases even the cosmos!
Osilda Focuses on a fantasy setting thrown into chaos as two alien armies battle over ancient tomes of forgotten knowledge. All while Osilda, a country in the midst of its Industrial Revolution, does its best to defend its people.
Ilys is all about the aftermath of not one, but two, grand legendary events, and the awkward cleanup and power vacuums that come with such a task. Just because the lich king is gone doesn’t mean the kingdom is safe from his machinations.
Udall is all about the past, being the front lines of the biggest war in the history of the world. Of course wars will always leave scars on the landscape and people, and the same is true for Udall and its kingdom Cyrost.
Most of the funds from the Ko-Fi fundraiser will go to commissioning art for the book, and what little is left will go into helping write more books in the future set on the world of Eldavar! Help fund the book by following and donating to the Ko-Fi link below!
