Last Chance to Back Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game on Kickstarter!

Last Chance to Back Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game on Kickstarter!
This is a community submitted press release.

March 10, 2025 – The Kickstarter campaign for Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game is nearing its grand finale! With just days left before the campaign closes on March 13th, this is the last opportunity for fans to pledge their support and claim exclusive rewards. The campaign has been an overwhelming success, zailing past $850,000 in funding with over 6,000 backers and unlocking an array of stretch goals—including a cloth map, iconic NPCs, new character creation options, and more! More stretch goals may still be unlocked as the campaign climbs toward $1 million, including additional iconic NPCs, swag and a custom soundscape universe by TableTone.

Marking the fifteenth anniversary of Fallen London, the beloved interactive browser game, this tabletop adaptation brings the eerie, whimsical, and darkly humorous world of the Neath to tabletop roleplaying. Developed in collaboration between Failbetter Games and Magpie Games, Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game invites players to chase grand ambitions through the streets of the Fifth City as obsessive Londoners dedicated to changing the city forever.

“It’s been quite humbling to see the Kickstarter succeed on this scale,” said Failbetter Communications Director Hannah Flynn. “We must thank the community who’ve supported us this long; when we launched in 2009, who’d have thought that Fallen London would still be kicking (writhing, grinning) fifteen years later? Truly it’s their hubris which has sustained us. Thank you to them, and to every new player who’s discovered our world via this campaign: welcome, delicious friends!”

The Kickstarter offers more than a dozen backer reward items, including the standard Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game core book, a deluxe edition with embossed cover and silk bookmarks, a dice set, limited edition art prints, a Guide to London supplement, and more! This is the last opportunity to grab these exclusive rewards before the campaign ends on March 13th!

“We are overjoyed to see the incredible outpouring of support for Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game on Kickstarter,” said Mark Diaz Truman, CEO of Magpie Games. “As we approach nearly a million dollars in funding, we’re so thankful to all the fans who have spread the word about the project and pledged to make it a reality.”

Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game marks the first appearance of the Ædana System™, a new game engine from Magpie Games’ award-winning design team. The Ædana System features a core dice pool mechanic that focuses on fast, nuanced resolution for challenges. During play, players and GMs can also expand a challenge into one of many intricate conflict systems, diving deeply into full-fledged contests with surprising outcomes.

Those who want to dive into Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game right now can still download a free quickstart featuring pregenerated characters, a short version of the rules, and an original venture titled “The Disappearance of the Transfigured Poet” by visiting www.magpiegames.com/fallenquickstart

About Fallen London

"Forty years ago, London was stolen by bats. Now, Hell is close, immortality is cheap, and the screaming has largely stopped..."

Fallen London is an immersive, text-based adventure game that you can play for free in any web browser at www.fallenlondon.com. It comprises 4.5 million handcrafted words of deep, dark and marvellous stories, and has spawned three additional stand-alone games in the same universe (Sunless Sea, Sunless Skies and Mask of the Rose).

Creep, coerce, brawl and swindle your way through the gaslit streets of a subterranean Victorian London. You might go mudlarking off Ladybones Road, eavesdrop in the ragged old market of Spite or arm-wrestle in Watchmaker’s Hill. As your renown grows, perhaps you’ll build out a railway to Hell or sail the uncaring waters of the Unterzee in pursuit of treasure, or terrible truths.

The Neath is vast, and waiting for you.
