Kobold Press announces the upcoming launch of RiverBank RPG, a new roleplaying game that invites players to embark on whimsical adventures filled with charm, whimsy, and a touch of drama. This cozy tabletop game promises something completely new from Kobold Press. Written and designed by Hugo and Nebula award winner Kij Johnson, RiverBank is set to release on BackerKit in April 2025.
The RiverBank RPG immerses players in a world of elegant Animals on curious quests, where each decision influences the unfolding narrative. Players will have the opportunity to weave delightful stories of friendship while navigating the intricacies—and often bedlam—of polite Animal society. Known for producing some of the most sought-after third-party 5th edition content, Kobold Press is putting down its spears and picking up spats in RiverBank RPG. Unlike past d20 systems, RiverBank is a brand-new gaming system optimized for 3 to 5 players. It utilizes standard dice (d4, d6, d12) to resolve decisions while players keep the balance between their characters' Animality and Poetry sides. Fall too far into one side or the other, and total disaster may follow!
