Anime TTRPG Crossover: Break!! x Animon Story Collab revealed in Expansion Kickstarter
A crossover between Animon Story and Break!! RPG is one of many new features included in the recently launched Animon Story: Legend's Wake Kickstarter
Having funded in only 3 hours, Animon Story: Legend's Wake is set to bring new worlds to the popular TTRPG about kids and their monster friends.
Originally released in digital in 2021, then launching on Kickstarter in 2022 to become a physical book, Animon Story is an original ‘monster taming’ roleplaying game inspired by beloved anime and video games such as Pokémon, Digimon, Monster Rancher, and more. Players create a Kid character and an evolving monster buddy called an Animon.
Since its release, Animon Story has received a great deal of praise both from tabletop RPG players and fans of the monster taming genre. The core ruleset is simple enough to be accessible for all ages, yet the depth and range of optional extras and customization makes it perfect for seasoned RPG players as well.
The Legend's Wake Expansion has reached almost 300% funding in its first week on Kickstarter. This new book provides more depth, more options for players and GMs, more guidance for running the game, and a fully developed setting and campaign to play out of the book.
The Break!! RPG crossover comes as part of a recently revealed (and unlocked) stretch goal. Zak Barouh, creator of Animon Story, confirmed they'll be working Break!! creators Reynaldo Madriñan and Carlo Tartaglia on a chapter for Legend's Wake.
The chapter will include optional mechanics and a new gameplay style inspired by Break!! adventures, as well as more direct crossovers between the setting of Dunia and Break!!'s Outer World.
Alongside the Break!! x Animon Story crossover, Legend's Wake will include:
- The Dunia Region, a detailed and expansive setting to adventure in.
- The Legend’s Wake Campaign, an adventure of legendary proportions set within the Dunia Region.
- Lots of new player options including Kid Types, animon abilities, and more.
- Expanded optional rules for building a team of animon partners to adventure with.
- New guides and optional rules for GMs including battle styles and variations, encounter building, and advice on integrating characters into the world.
- Tons of new items and power-ups for characters to find and use.
- New NPCs from the Dunia Region and over 50 new illustrated animon, including powerful legendary animon and guides on creating and using your own.
Animon Story: Legend's Wake is funding on Kickstarter until September 16th.
