Save the Family Restaurant! Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall 2nd Printing
The ENnie-award winning game is back with a second printing on BackerKit.
Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall by Sen-Foong Lim and Banana Chan is coming back with a second printing of the game! The game won a Silver ENnie award for Best Setting, and was nominated for Best Production Value and Product of the Year in 2022. After a successful first crowdfunding campaign from Wet Ink Games and Read/Write Memory (formerly known as Game and a Curry), the game is now going to BackerKit.
The collaborative tabletop roleplaying game is about a Chinese immigrant family running a restaurant in the 1920s in a Canadian or American Chinatown. Despite societal backlash and anti-Chinese laws of the time, the family persists. Unfortunately, night is when the Jiangshi (hopping vampires) create even more chaos.
The game is centered around persevering as a family and protecting a marginalized community, with much emphasis on storytelling rather than combat. There are several different settings and scenarios, with a choice of different Chinatowns that the players can choose from.
Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall comes in a boxed set with a rulebook, a scenario book, a deck of Restaurant cards, a deck of Mung cards, a deck of Jiangshi cards, 1 X-card, 6 gold eight-sided dice, 6 red eight-sided dice, 1 white four-sided die, 4 dry-erase character sheets, 4 dry erase markers, a pad of Spirit Paper and a Restaurant board.
In this new crowdfunding campaign, pledge levels include a digital PDF version of the game, as well as the physical second printing of the boxed set. There is also a new setting book that is being released as a pledge level, with several guest writers, including Daniel Kwan and Connie Chang.
