Hit the Beach This Summer with Beach Episodes - the AP That Wants You to Relax
In fantasy and in reality, one AP poses the question - what if we just chilled out for a minute?
Beach Episodes is a D&D-based series that tackles the downtime between adventures, sets the characters gently down on a beach, and lets them recount their latest tales against the backdrop of a particularly fantastical island. While that may be enough of a curiosity on its own, the creators take it a step further by asking themselves to take it easy for a while.
Set to Premier Thursday, July 11th at 6PM Pacific time on Twitch, Beach Episodes will run weekly through August 29th.
First proposed on Twitter by Gnome Anne, the intent was always to provide a different perspective on the “typical” game structure, as well as forming a collective of creators who could play to their strengths. By assembling a team of over 30 members, the effort is spread out enough that everyone can do what they enjoy without burning out with too many tasks.
An experiment in labor exchange and prioritizing creator comfort, the series aims to remind both players and the audience that it’s okay to take a little time off, to ask for help, and to wear sunscreen even when the clouds come by.
Beach Master Gnome Anne is joined by players Austin, who will be hitting the beach as Luxie the Bold, Nala J. Wu as Hasani, and Liv Chavez as Nils Corazor, with surprise guests as the series continues.
