Goblins of Thorntooth Thicket comes to Kickstarter January 2025
TTRPG creators Brewist Tabletop Games take a brief detour into boardgaming.
Portland, OR - Brewist Tabletop Games, headed by Moss Powers, is launching a crowdfund through Kickstarter in January of 2025 for Goblins of Thorntooth Thicket, a card-based social deduction game with a dungeon crawling twist.
The game is a 45-minute, 4-8 player game of hidden identities, similar to Mafia or Werewolf style party games, and will feature more than 50 unique illustrations from artist Lepish Susano across the 85 card base deck. It is suitable for ages 13 and up. In it, most players will take the role of goblins in a collective, searching for treasures and trying to overcome obstacles. One or two players will be barghests, shapeshifting goblin-eaters, attempting to sabotage the goblins' efforts. Playtesters have called the game "Wildly chaotic, but well balanced.". Designer Moss Powers describes the game as "A fresh take on the hidden role genre, with a common goal and evocative aesthetics."
The Kickstarter launches January 17th, 2024, and will run for 30 days.
Brewist Tabletop Games is a small team effort to create games evoking the human experience and imagination, to emphasize the importance of play, at any age, and to respect the magic and power of storytelling.
