Games for an Ordinary Life is a poetic art zine of short, sweet and dangerous ttrpgs, and funding ends in one week, on March 8th! It's just over the 50% mark and can definitely use your support!
This delightful ZineQuest contribution came together as a sketchbook exercise during the 36 Word RPG Jam in which I drafted over 20 tiny games of all various styles during January 2025. The final collection will polish most of these games and publish them in a charming little A5 book.
The Games
Games for an Ordinary Life contains a wide range of styles including solo, duo and group games, games for storytelling, real-time games, autobiographical games, games from observation of the world, theater games and even a magnetic poetry game. You’ll find games like:

- Insatiable Mountain - a game about feeding a mountain that’s always hungry, and learning how you grow in real time.
- Spin Out - a semi-autobiographical game about spinning out of control in a car on an icy highway in Iowa.
- (Un)Fortunately, Fate - a spin on the classic theater game “Fortunately, Unfortunately.”
- Baby Dragon - a game about being a baby dragon
- Reveal Your Heart Quest - a magnetic poetry game that lets you build a new game each time you play.
- .. and more!

There's even a reward tier to get your own magnetic poetry copy of Reveal Your Heart Quest - such a cool thing to have on hand!
The Art
In addition to the poetic games, Games for an Ordinary Life will also include original linoleum block prints that I will design and create after the campaign. This artwork will be produced in A5 as well, in the style of the cover art seen above - which is itself an original linoprint.

You can read more about the development of this zine and a deep dive into some of the games in my blog and visit my itch.io page for some other games included in the collection as well.
