A crowdfunding campaign for Final Girl Rising, a tabletop roleplaying game tailor-made for fans of slasher horror is now live on Kickstarter!
In Final Girl Rising, play as one of six horror movie heroine archetypes and do whatever you can to survive until the credits roll. Using the Powered by the Apocalypse rule system, players dissect and explore the popular trope of the final girl, while playing collaboratively to insure at least one of their number survives.
Death is not the end, however, as dead characters can continue to aid their fellow players via a special mechanic called Channel the Spirit. Channel the Spirit lets deceased characters take control, granting them access to both the other character's powers and their own. When only one character remains, she becomes the Final Girl, and gains access to a new set of abilities that only she can use.
Offered as a 6x9 hardcover book and PDF, Final Girl Rising is a love letter to the slasher genre, feminine horror, and the will to survive. A supplemental book, called Final Girl Rising Supercut, filled with chilling scenarios for players to explore, is also available as a 6x9 softcover book and PDF.
