Hexploration Decks combines card decks of ideas that help you set up a campaign area (hex crawl or otherwise) and Hex Minimap Tiles to lay out that campaign area.

Adventure is calling! Whether you're running a hex crawl, building a rich sandbox world, or just need quick inspiration for your next tabletop RPG session, Hexploration Decks & Tiles are here to help.

This project combines two powerful tools to enhance your game:

Hexploration Decks – A set of thematic card decks packed with unique locations, creative twists, and exploration ideas. Each location card (40 of the 56 card decks) has amazing art on one side, and a pile of ideas related to the art (in the form of several d6 charts per card. 10 cards are Traits--each side of these cards are more ideas related to a theme (Fey Investment, Pilgrimage Site) that can be added to any location. And a few cards give guidance on setting up a campaign, exploring, generating encounters, and random name charts!

Hex Minimap Tiles – Modular hex tiles designed for fast, customizable map-making. Plus a set of sticker icons (or possibly clings, based on stretch goals) for towers, towns, etc. Art by Dyson Logos, who has made many official D&D maps.

And the best part? You can try them for free! Download our sample deck with a selection of cards from all four planned decks, plus 45 sample hex tiles to start building maps right away.

Deck Themes

Each deck is designed to bring new life to your game world:

  • Settled Lands – Bustling cities, quiet villages, mighty castles, and more.
  • Into the Wilderness – Mysterious paths, eerie wilds, and forgotten shrines.
  • The Underrealms – Hidden caves, vast underground kingdoms, and shadowy secrets.
  • Otherworldly Domains – Impossible places like floating islands and elemental cities.

And if we hit our stretch goal? Every backer who backs for four decks gets a fifth bonus deck, On the High Seas, for free!

Build Your Own World with Hex Minimap Tiles

Our 3-inch hex tiles feature a 1-inch sub-hex grid, making it easy to create dynamic maps on the fly. Each double-sided tile represents different terrains—forests, mountains, deserts, and more. Printed on durable, laminated cardstock, they’re perfect for marking rivers, roads, or settlements with dry-erase markers. Plus, you’ll get a set of stickers to customize your maps even further! And stretch goals will add more tiles to the set!
