Evil Hat announces crowdfunding plans for Blades in the Dark expansion
An interview with Sean Nittner and John Harper on Deep Cuts and future books.

Blades in the Dark is one of those incredible indie games that has a reputation that has far surpassed the gaming spheres where it began. Much like its predecessor, Apocalypse World, Blades spawned numerous hacks and secondary products like Scum and Villainy, Girl by Moonlight, and Slugblaster.
Late last year, John Harper, the game designer behind Blades in the Dark, released Deep Cuts on itch.io as a settings and system expansion. Now, Evil Hat is running a crowdfunding campaign for a print edition of Deep Cuts, starting on May 20th, which expands the setting with new factions, backgrounds, and technology. It’s also a buffet of new rules including campaign-defining events called Catalysts. In a previous interview with Rascal, Harper compared it to a “director’s cut”.
Rascal sat down with Sean Nittner, Evil Hat’s Director of Projects and Harper to chat a little more about the first official Blades in the Dark expansion and what’s coming next in the world of Doskvol.
