Community Radio, Second Edition is now available!
Get it on itch.io!
The improvisational and dark humor TTRPG Community Radio is back with a brand-new second edition. Developed by Quinn Murphy for Thoughtcrime Games, the updated PDF is now available on itch.io in PDF and will soon be available in print from Indie Press Revolution.
About Community Radio: In Community Radio, players step into a town filled with deep secrets, terrifying monsters, unspeakable evils, a mysterious city council...and a community radio station which ends up broadcasting a lot of the madness that happens in the town. Made to accommodate 3-10 players, participants improvise scenes about the strange happenings in this town. Public radio broadcasts follow these scenes, filling in details and also making time to announce decrees that the mysterious city council has made up in response.
Inspired by Welcome to Nightvale and other radio-based shows about weird communities, the game provides a unique blend of dark comedy, horror, and improv.
Sessions last 1-2 hours, Community Radio is ideal for one-shots or as a break from ongoing campaigns. The game focuses on providing structures, inspiration and procedures for play rather than rules, making it easy for new players and seasoned players alike to get started with.
What's New in the Second Edition? The second edition comes with several major improvements designed to enhance the player experience:
- Clearer Instructions: The game now offers more detailed guidance on setting up scenes and gameplay, making it easier to jump in.
- Pre-made “Stations” and Scenarios: New pre-made lists of elements and settings allow for quick-start play.
- Campaign Play Support: Added structures for running plot-driven, multi-session campaigns for players looking for a deeper experience.
- Print Availability: For the first time, Community Radio will be available in both PDF and print formats, and we will distribute it through itch.io and Indie Press Revolution
