This is a community-submitted press release.

After the calamity, the infinite dark between the stars felt cramped: it was crowded by refugees on ships meant for fewer people and shorter trips.

During the second generation, those who survived in their home-ships cannibalized the metal skeletons of the less fortunate.

In the third generation, the surviving home-ships expanded their ships, their mecha, their operations, and their conflicts.

The fourth generation discovered the Titans: dead gods whose frozen bodies spanned hundreds of miles across.

You are the fifth generation.

Celestial Bodies has been in progress since 2023; its Terrestrial edition, and subsequently its Titan edition, released to great acclaim. Now, its final edition - the Titanic Eclipse Edition - is arriving on Kickstarter!

In this GMless (and solo-able) game, you play as the residents of one of the home-ships that house the remnants of humanity. Specifically, you will be playing as its Lamplighters: the unions of pilot and mech that each home-ship maintains to protect their interests. You'll construct your mech by placing parts on a grid. When combat arrives, you'll find yourself using that same Grid as not only a record of what's contained on your mech, but a set of hit locations!

When it's time to embark upon missions, you'll determine what happens using a hexflower-based mission generator. Along the way, you can find yourself pitted against - or allied with - 24 factions, each of which has their own theme, preferred mech loadouts, and ways of doing things.

And who knows? You might even find yourselves in the possession of one of the mighty Titan Frames: unique mechs that play by their own rules.

The currently-released Titan Edition has a lot of these ideas implemented already and many more. In addition to a print run for both softback and hardback books, we want to accomplish even more with the Titanic Eclipse Edition by taking these concepts fully to their logical conclusions and adding even more to facilitate deep play.

To that end, we're also commissioning zines from Kyle Tam (MORIAH, Forsaken) and Hipólita (Cantrip, R.A.D.) as well as writing some ourselves. These will be optional (but excellent) additions to expand upon your understanding of the way things are, add factions and subsystems, and generally tailor your gameplay experience.

So when Celestial Bodies comes to Kickstarter this spring? Don't miss it.
