Casting Call for Season 2 of Unbalanced Encounters
Unbalanced Encounters is an award-nominated narrative play podcast, using TTRPGS to tell heartfelt, twangy tales. In Season 2, players will work with us to explore new corners of a new world, taking agency over world-building elements that serve new stories.
Unbalanced Encounters is excited to announce an open casting call for players to join us in season 2, following the wrap-up of our award-nominated first season, Rally.
About the Campaign:
We’ll be saying goodbye to Ostilla, the world of Rally. In Season 2, you’ll work with us in tables of 4 players to explore new corners of a new world, taking agency over world-building elements that serve new stories. We’re also changing structure — from a 75-episode epic “main campaign” to an anthology of shorter stories ranging from 3 to 12 episodes apiece. Each of these arcs will be set in the same world, but feature different players, a different game, and a different narrative goal.
You Should Audition If:
You’re a voice actor - You love an accent or a funny voice, and you know how to bring the feeling to the line.
You’re a Heartfelt Storyteller - You can use a character to tell a story, and tell a story to know a character. Feeling precedes action precedes description.
You’re an Intuitive Improviser - You’re at home in the zone, open to the moment, and you understand the real meaning of “yes, and.”
You’re a Silly Little Guy - You love a good laugh and know how to get it. You push to find the funny in unexpected places.
We believe strongly in the importance of representation in the TTRPG space, which is why our cast is made up of BIPOC, queer, and neurodivergent performers. We’re constantly seeking like-minded storytellers and creatives to collaborate with.
How to Audition:
Auditions will be accepted between August 1st and August 18th. Please fill out the audition form found at uepodca.st/audition. We recommend setting aside 45 minutes to fill out the form and record your audition. Audition submission via video, and producer assistance is available.
