Anomaly Hunters: A TTRPG of Monster Hunting and TV
This is a community submitted press release.

Welcome to Anomaly Hunters!

I guess I should quickly explain what the concept of the show is: we find haunted locations, you go there, destroy the thing, and film the whole process! Is it legal, well... Probably not... But is it cool... Heck yes!

Anomaly Hunters is a small TTRPG within which you play as the protagonists of an investigative TV show that tries to find weird creatures and get rid of them. It takes a lot of inspiration from Supernatural, Deadtective, The Cleansing Hour and Phasmophobia (if you actually had to destroy the thing)!

THIS GAME IS BREATHLESS

Anomaly Hunters uses the Breathless SRD, created by FariRPG (https://farirpgs.com/). It is a really simple system that only requires a set of polyhedral dice and a pen. Skills and items are all assigned a die rating, going from 1d4 to 1d12 (whenever you use a skill, the die rating goes down). To resolve a challenge, roll and try to get a 4 or higher to succeed. You can reset your skills by "taking a break", but every time you do so, the GM introduces a consequences to the group (you know, those moments when you think "what now..." in a movie).

FEATURES

- 10 different crew members, using cool archetypes such as the Tech Guy, the Medium, the Witch or even the Intern.
- Simple rules that focus on the story, leaving a lot of narrative powers to the Game Master and Players.
- Random tables for different parts of the game, making it easy to create situations on the go.

A page example showing the different items and actions your character can do. It has a black and white image of The Devil tarot card and a pistol.

For an optimal experience, it is recommended to have no more than four players and one GM. The game is designed to be easily played as one-shots or multiple ones (one session usually equals one episode) and each games can be as long (or short) as you want.

Anomaly Hunters was developed by Wendigo Workshop, a small team of indigenous, LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent people from Quebec making and publishing TTRPGs, creating maps and writing reviews! You can find all of our sh... things HERE!
