Play Easily Now (PEN) RPG: A new way to a friend group
Tabletop RPGs are amazing for making friends, but they're a pain in the butt to learn from scratch. We're fixing that.
Between the ages of 18 and 34, young adults go through some craaazy times. 1-in-3 report feeling lonely often or all the time, and 1-and-2 have observable anxiety and depression. It’s a turbulent time. Most people will be moving away for college, a first job, getting married, or having a first child. When we do, it's easy to lose our friend groups and slip into isolation.
Research shows roleplaying games help, and plenty of people LOVE the idea of roleplaying. But few have time or money to get involved. And simple RPGs exist, but they lack the depth to keep players coming back for weekly sessions.
That's why Hoowdwink created the Play Easily Now (PEN) RPG. PEN is a modular tabletop roleplaying system created by young adults, for young adults. Gameplay starts in seven pages using straightforward rules, a pre-built session, and seven pre-built characters. From there, players dive into four more modules of increasingly complex rules with enough options and strategy to satisfy even a veteran D&D player. The result is a tight, 90-page book that onboards players quickly and grows in complexity for endless tactical and worldbuilding options.
